The average life span of humans is lengthening by about three months every year. This is due to advances in science and medicine I suppose. If you were four years younger than me, you should live one year longer than me (on average). If you were 24 years younger than me, you should live six years longer. A person born today, should live 17 years and six months longer than me.
Our government has statistics on these things. It seems that when I was born, my life expectancy was about 66 years. In 2010, I was 65 and they expected me to live until I was about 82 years-old. Women live about two years longer than men.
Averages are interesting but they mean nothing to the individual. Take care of yourself.
