One of mankind's great controversies centers around creationism and evolution (darwinism). Did man evolve from apes?
Here's what I think and a new take on the subject. Creation is a fact. Evolution is a fact. I think both happened and both are still happening. For me, evolution takes nothing away from the hand of God.
That said, here's another slant on the process of evolution. I think that man is a creature like no other because he stumbled upon cooking. Yes, you heard me right ... Cooking! Fire for warmth then - Ooops! Fire for cooking.
You see, I discovered while researching a previous blog entry, that cooking does more to food than you think. Cooking not only kills germs and changes the taste of food - it actually changes the chemicals that make up the food. It changes the molecular composition of foods. Here's the kicker. These changes effect what goes into our blood streams and that changes how we grow. Not only that but in our brains it changes how we think. It effects the synapses of our brains. Put simply: the brains of creatures that eat cooked food are advanced beyond those that only eat raw food. That's why the cavemen were not too bright and didn't have cellphones.
Now you know why we are smarter than apes. Now you know why you should not feed your dog anything off of the table. Happy Thanksgiving!
