When I was a kid, in Autumn, we raked all of our leaves in the back yard into a big pile in the center of the yard. Four large walnut trees dropped many leaves into our small yard. Anyway, my sisters and I would jump into the pile a time or two and then we would throw a lighted match onto it. Big fire! All the neighbors did the same. The smell of burning leaves was just a part of the Fall season. Today, you could get arrested.
