SUNDAY SERVICE

This is the last Sunday of the Christmas season.  We end the season by celebrating the Baptism of Jesus.  Remember that he was not baptized as an infant but as an adult.  It marked the beginning of his public ministry - about thirty years after his birth.

Jesus chose to be baptized as a message to us.  He put his stamp of approval on what his cousin John was teaching:  that everyone should be baptized as an outward sign that they were changing their lifestyle - asking that they be cleansed of their sins - dedicating themselves to the way of God.

If you were baptized as an infant or some many years ago, it would be a good thing to personally reaffirm what your baptism meant and means to you today.
