SUNDAY SERVICE

This is the third of the numbered Sundays in the Church calendar.  On this day, we read a Gospel passage from Luke that tells us that Jesus, who had been teaching in the Temple for some time, read from the Scriptures one day and announced that he was the fulfillment of that reading.  The Scripture reading was from the prophet Isaiah.  It said that there would be one anointed by God and that he would come to bring good news to all.  This was early in his public life.   We are early in our yearly journey through the life of Christ.  As you would for any journey, prepare yourself.
