I thought I might have trouble finding something significant that happened this date since it only comes around every four years.  Leap Day, you know.  I was right.  Nothing.

Well, people born on this date are 'leap babies'.  I looked everywhere for a celebrity, politician or athlete.  It's quite a novelty.  I've never known anyone born on this date.  Here is the only person I've ever heard of with this birthday.

In 1916,  Dinah Shore was born on this date.  Singer.  TV personality.  Actress.  I watched her TV show regularly in the 1950's.  She did her own commercials for Chevy and the ad's song became her signature piece ... "See the USA in your Chevrolet" . . . and sold a lot of cars.
