I do Shinrin Yoku and you should too. The translation of the Japanese words is forest bathing. I may not bathe in the tub as often as I once did but I now visit the forest regularly.
Studies have proven that a leisurely walk in the forest or woods calms your nerves and increases hormones in the body that protect against obesity, diabetes and heart/circulatory diseases. For your own mental and physical health, you can't go wrong with a regular routine of visiting the forest.
Breath in the forest air; relax in a calm place; wander through nature's wonderland; physically touch living-growing nature; listen to the sounds of the forest; heal your mind and body. I couldn't recommend it more strongly. If you want more information: visit www.shinrin-yoku.org If you want someone to go with you, I'm always available.
