WHEN I WAS A KID

When I was a kid, something was different in the Catholic Church than we have today.  You know the priest wears different color vestments at mass depending on the occasion.  For example; big feast days he wears white, ordinary days he wears green, on feast days of martyrs he wears red, during lent and advent you will see purple.  That's pretty much it, today.

When I was a kid, the priest wore black vestments for funerals.  Black!  Just like the widow or widower.  So Sad!  Today, the priest wears white at funerals.  Its a new era.  Death is not a bad thing - at least not for the dead person.  I think this is a good thing.
