DEFINITION WEDNESDAY

Here we are with more definitions on Wednesday leading up to the election this Fall.

How about GDP?  You hear that all the time.  It stands for Gross Domestic Product.  It is a dollar estimate of all final manufacturing and services rendered in the country for a certain period.  It tells everyone how good our economy is as compared to previous figures.  It is usually measured quarterly, semi-annually and annually.

How about GNI?  This is the Gross National Income.  It is a little different.  It just measures American firms with their income in this country or abroad.  This figure is higher because many of our companies have operations over seas.

How about GOP?  That's easy.  It stands for the Grand Old Party - the Republican Party.  This party doesn't seem too 'grand' at the moment and it may be a lot different from the 'old' Republican Party.
