DIMENSIONS

Our physical world is a three-dimensional puzzle.  Every piece of matter or conglomerate of atoms has length, width and height.  These are the spacial dimensions of nature, of math and of science. These are the dimensions of which our natural world is made.

To these, man has added the dimension of time.  Time is a beautiful woman.  We can not live without her.  She makes sense of our trivial tasks - she makes sense of the world though she drives us insane.

She can be a cruel partner.  She rules and over-rules our daily lives if we let her.  Without question, she leaves scars on our body, on our face and in our mind.   She steals the one thing we tend to hold most precious - our youth.

It is one of the great challenges of life - to learn to be at peace with time.  We must learn to treat our time (and other's as well) with respect but not total subservience.  We will, of course, lose to her in the end.   Every once in a while, that thought explodes in my mind - usually after a reunion, but sometimes, I only need to glance in a mirror.
