God rejoices more in forgiving the one who has led a sinful life than in the one who almost never sins. He is the shepherd who rejoices at finding the one sheep who was lost from the fold. He is the father who joyfully welcomes home the prodigal son.
It is human nature to get excited about finding something valuable that we had lost. It is God's nature also. God will not scold us - He will rejoice.
