RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

10/03/2016

OCTOBER 3

On this date in 1995, O.J. Simpson was acquitted of murder in the death of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.  I remember exactly where I was when the news flash came.

I had rented a luxury Continental with a built in phone (that was big at the time) at the Detroit Airport to escort a group of prospective buyers of our division of Price Brothers.  They were from Waco, Texas.  I showed them around our various facilities in Michigan.  We were on the freeway between Detroit and Saginaw.  I wasn't sure how to react when the news interrupted quiet music on the car radio.  I didn't want to offend a prospective buyer.

Pretty much, the car went silent.  They probably felt the same way I did.
. . . twenty-one years ago today.
