NOVEMBER 14

On this date in 1970, Southern Airlines chartered flight 932 crashed into the hills of West Virginia near Huntington.  All 75 people on board were killed including 37 members of the Marshall University football team, five coaches and loyal fans.  They were returning from a close loss to East Carolina in Greenville, North Carolina.  Forty-six years ago today and the event is a lasting memory of mine.   A 2006 movie titled "We are Marshall" starring Matthew McConaughey recounted the tragedy and the resurrection of their program.
