SUNDAY SERVICE

We've reached the 4th Sunday of Advent.  The final week before Christmas is here.  In the Gospel reading this weekend, Matthew tells us about the dilemma of Joseph.

Joseph finds that his betrothed wife is pregnant.  Yikes!  She had not lived with him at this time. Because he was a good guy and didn't want to embarrass her, he decided to divorce her quietly.

Now comes a message from God.  Stay married to Mary, live with her and her child will be called Emmanuel  - which means "God is with us."  This must have been hard to take.  I'm sure he felt like saying "Why me Lord?"  We know that he didn't.

We all receive messages from God.   We ALL receive messages from God.  We must learn to listen.    Don't be afraid.   Do as Mary did and Joseph did.
