This weekend in Catholic churches you will hear a reading from Matthew's Gospel that seems to be ultra-conservative with respect to sin.  Jesus was being asked if the old laws still apply.  These were the traditional written laws of Judaism.  Not only did Jesus affirm them but tried to point out that just obeying 'the letter of the law' was not good enough.  He told them that God knew what was in their minds - he knew their real intentions.  He told them they could sin with their thoughts.

That's pretty tough stuff.  Nobody said it would be easy.

In my mind, Love trumps Sin.  Make all your actions out of love and you have no problems. Out of true love, no sin shall come.
