RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

SUNDAY SERVICE

The weekend at Catholic mass services you will hear Matthews account of the Transfiguration.  A quick reminder:  this is when Jesus took three of his apostles to the top of a mountain and those apostles witnessed first -  Jesus began shining like the sun; second - long dead Moses and Elijah joined Jesus; third - as the apostles were considering building a monument on the site to this miracle, a dark heavy cloud came over the area.  From it, they heard a voice speaking they knew must be God. He said that Jesus was his son.  When hearing this, the apostles fell to the ground, covered their faces and were afraid.  Jesus came to them and touched them on the back and told them not to be afraid.

There is a lot to talk about here but let's just look at the big picture.  What the apostles experienced may mirror your life.

The apostles followed Jesus - they saw great things - they wanted to do a worldly thing - they ended up in a dark place - Jesus saved them and brought them to the light again.  Do not be afraid.
