CINCINNATI

One of the most famous buildings in Cincinnati is Music Hall.  It's a gorgeous structure built in 1878. Of course, it houses the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, hosts the Cincinnati Opera Company and everyone's favorite:  the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.  Upon it's completion, it was so grand that people were calling Cincinnati the Paris of America.

The building is undergoing needed renovations right now.  You see, in 2014, The National Trust for Historic Preservation put it on it's most endangered list.  The list includes the eleven most endangered historic buildings in the country; buildings designated a National Historic Landmark.

Here is a picture:

Something not heard very often is that this building was built on the ground of a pauper's cemetery. During the last renovation, in 1988, construction workers found over 80 pounds of human bones in one little area under the building.  The building is a wonderful place to enjoy good music but don't hang around after the show - ghosts walk the halls.
