POLITICAL APPOINTMENTS GALORE

The President of the United States can make 1,565 appointments of workers to offices of government. Just 353 of them are presidential appointments - not requiring confirmation by Congress.  The other 1,212 appointments require Senate approval.

Of course, not all of these political appointments are to critical positions but some are extremely critical.  The positions not requiring Senate confirmation are White House staff, advisors, counselors, etc.  The ones requiring confirmation are the Cabinet positions, Ambassadors,  Department Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Undersecretaries and Deputy Undersecretaries, etc.  Obviously, the list goes on and on.

Now - the current state of these appointments.  For the 500 most notable jobs, DJT has nominated people to fill only 150 of those positions.  AND, only 50 have been confirmed by the Senate.

I say, GOOD!  I knew we didn't need all those people working in Washington.  Drain that swamp!
