Stop crying or wringing your hands. All is not lost. It could always be worse. Well, not really.
This week the Bengals play the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are 1-1. After the first week, they were rated the best team in the league. After their bad loss last week to the Falcons, they dropped to number seven. That compares favorably to the Bengals rating of number thirty out of thirty-two teams. Don't pay any attention to these ratings. You don't want to get too discouraged before the game ever begins.
The Bengals will be playing with a new offensive coordinator this week. Ken Zampeze was fired and the quarterbacks coach, Bill Lazor, is taking over that role. The offensive coordinator is responsible for developing an offensive game plan, dictating who plays and what plays are called when we have the ball. "Pretty important", I'd say. It will be interesting to see what changes are made.
The game starts at 4:25 ET Sunday in Green Bay. Las Vegas sports books have the Packers at 9 point favorites with the game total at 45 points. The first two weeks the Bengals games' point totals were 20 and 22. Who do they think is going to score all those points - I wonder? Say a prayer this week.
