GA-ALL-LEE

As old as I am, as long as I've lived in Ohio, it never occurred to me to wonder from where the name buckeye had come.  It's a tree, of course.  It's the fruit of that tree.  It could be a piece of candy.  Now, I understand that it got it's name because it looks like the eye of a deer - a male deer being a buck. Who knew?  Who would have guessed?  Not me.
