LOOKING BACK

If 2017 wasn't all you had hoped for, don't worry about it.  Look forward!  Look up!  2018 can be the best year of your life.  Take it from this guy.

"Don't look back, someone might be gaining on you."   Words attributed to Satchel Paige - the 'ageless one' born in 1906.  He was one of the first black professional baseball players - a legendary pitcher of the Negro Leagues.  He eventually got to play in the Major Leagues with the Cleveland Indians at the age of 42.  He made a pitching appearance in a game with the Kansas City Athletics at the age of 59.   He died in 1982.

Another quote of Paige.  "How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?"  Think about that.  He followed that up with, "Age is a question of mind over matter.  If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."  I don't know about you but I just got a lot younger.  You should too.  Be younger in 2018 if that's what you want.

Not all of Paige's homespun wisdom had to do with age.  Here is another quote, one I love; "Don't pray when it rains if you don't pray when the sun shines."
