WEEKEND LITURGY

EXODUS 20     PSALM 19     1 COR 1     JOHN 2:13-25

Big readings this weekend!  From Exodus, the story about the Ten Commandments given to Moses.  From Psalms, more about the laws given to us by God.  From Paul, a short note about the strength and wisdom of God's words.  From John, the story about Jesus chasing the money changers from the temple and then saying, "Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up."  He was, of course, talking about his body and not the building.  Great stories all, but for me . . .

at each mass, a single line or short verse is recited or sang before the reading of the Gospel.  This weekend we will hear the most important of all lines in the Bible.  It is John 3:16.  Never forget it.

"God so loved the world that He gave His only son, so that everyone who believes in Him might have eternal life."   As a parent of a son, I say, "Who could ask for more?"
