At Catholic mass this weekend, you will hear a series of readings that are meant to show us the 'way'. Wisdom 7:7-11; Hebrews 4:12-13; Mark 10:17-30.
First, from the Book of Wisdom, Solomon tells us that he prayed to God, not for earthly goods but for 'wisdom' and that it was given to him. He valued wisdom higher than all else on Earth and for him it was the 'way'.
In Paul's letter to the Hebrews, he explained that God looks at us with a discerning eye and sees even our innermost thoughts. He admitted to them that the 'way' of Jesus was not an easy one.
From Mark, we hear Jesus tell those wanting a prescription to attain eternal life that they must not only obey the laws but should give up all they have and travel unburdened by earthly goods. This is the 'way' to follow Him. This is very hard for us in this plentiful country to abide.
Pray for wisdom, live as though God is watching your every move and try to live as unburdened by 'things' as much as possible.
