THIS N THAT

Oprah Winfrey's real first name is Orpah.  No misspelling here.  She was named after Orpah, sister of Ruth mentioned in the Book of Ruth in the Hebrew Bible.   Maybe spelling was her problem.

The so-called "twin cities" are Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.  You knew that.  Okay, what are the "quad cities"?  Wait!  Before you answer, remember that 'quad' indicates 'four'.  The answer is Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa and Rock City, Moline and East Moline, Illinois.  Five cities in a four sided area where Iowa meets Illinois.  I thought you should know.

As we near St. Patrick's Day, I thought I should point out that one of the great movies set in Ireland is "The Quiet Man" which stars John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara.  It was filmed in 1952.  John Ford won 'Best Director' and the film won 'Best Cinematography' from the Academy Awards.  It'll play on March 17th on AMC and at local theaters.  Oh!  You're not Irish?  Too bad!

With all due respect to the University of Cincinnati, the real name of a bearcat is a binturong.  They are native to South Asia and are currently endangered.  Of course, it is neither a bear nor a cat.

And now for some deep thinking.  Are you deeply involved in your work?   Would you say you are committed to your work?   Here's the difference.  When you order sausage and eggs for breakfast, the chicken was involved but the pig was committed.
