Stay with me here - don't let the big words scare you.  There is more than one way to skin a cat and more than one way to classify living creatures.  Deuterostomes is a classification of animals which, when conceived, the embryo forms an anus first.  All others are Protostomes which form a mouth first.  Which are you?  Note that all birds and fish are deuterostomes while snails are protostomes.  When you were an embryo, did your butt hole form before your mouth?  Were you a total butt hole at one time?  Ponder this today!
