RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

This weekend at Catholic mass you will hear a rather tough passage recorded by Luke.  Jesus was teaching his disciples and a crowd.  No sugar coating went on at this event.  He must have known it was the time to snap the disciples back to His reality.

Jesus told them that he had come to set the earth on fire.  Wow!  There was no "you follow me and everything will be rosy."  Not this time.  Jesus laid it out for them.

Not only would the going be rough at times but it might cause divisions between those who really believe and those who do not.  Those divisions could be in one's family, home or neighborhood.

Moreover, expect that you will get burnt.  BUT, the burns will heal and they are only felt by the body - your soul can still survive.

There is a Hell!
