THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

Again this week in Luke's gospel passage, you will hear in rather stark language, what you need to do to be a real follower of Jesus Christ.  If you thought it would be easy, think again. 

Without blinking, Jesus told those following him to go as far as to break relations with their families; to shoulder the burdens the world puts on them without mentioning it, even to the point of giving up their life; and to give up gladly all of their possessions.  It is in this manner that you become an apostle.

Don't expect me to mollify Jesus' demands.  Don't expect me to say that less than this is enough. 

No one said it would be easy.  Do the very best you can and let God be your judge.
