I'll let you all in on a little secret.  I've lost some weight.  Well, very little to be accurate, but I wanted to pass along my secret.  I'm cutting my deserts in half.  Of course, I'm eating both halves but it makes me feel thinner.  I'm going to try it on pizza next.



Do you recognize the statue in the picture below?  Have you heard of the Statue of Freedom?   This is it and she stands atop the dome of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington D.C.  This bronze statue of a lady warrior has crowned the building since 1863.



Those gold ingot bars you see in movies like James Bond's Goldfinger weigh 440 ounces or 27.5 pounds.  The current price of gold is about $1,500 per ounce.  That makes those bars worth over a half million dollars each.
