Deacon White is a man enshrined in Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame.  He was a catcher who played for the Cincinnati Reds in 1878-79 and managed them in 1879.  What's the big deal?  In the 1870s, major league baseball players didn't use gloves in the field.  He was a catcher!  Yikes!  He never used a glove!  I have no idea whether he used a mask or not.  A barehanded catcher had to have hands of leather or stone or steel.  I would have hated to shake his hand.

Coral snakes, which have very potent venom, can be found in coastal and southwestern U.S. states.  All the dangerous ones have coloration black yellow red yellow.  If black touches red, no problem.
