MIDWEEK PRAYER

Midweek this week is Christmas.  Per Merriam-Webster, from the Middle English Christemasse and the Old English Cristes Maesse;  literally Christ's mass.  The word mass has it's roots in the Greek word maza; literally to mingle.  Catholics call their service 'mass'; it is a time to mingle as well as a time to remember. 

Lord, bless us this Christmas time 

that we may mingle with those we love; 

and express our love with small gifts, if we can,

all the while remembering that Christ was given to us, 

all we have was given to us, 

and are meant to be shared.
