In 274 AD, the Romans established December 25 as the day to honor their sun god, Sol Invictus. Christians first began celebrating Christmas many years later, in 336 AD, and chose the same day just to aggravate the non-christian Romans.
Whales have very bad breath. What they expel through their blow hole contains many things that could make you sick - strep, salmonella, etc. Whenever you come upon a beached whale, wear a surgical mask if you want to help put it back to sea.
