If you are able to attend Catholic mass this weekend, you will hear John's gospel story of Jesus curing the man who was blind from birth. It was a miracle the Jewish clergy couldn't handle. It was too much for them. You would think a miracle like that would make them believers. Why didn't it?
Pride! They were too proud of their status in the community to allow some unknown to take it away from them. Envy! They were envious of Jesus having so many followers.
Ask yourself if you fail to do the right thing because of pride. Do you succumb to doing things because of what other people will think of you? Join the crowd. Do you do things you know you should not, just to increase the admiration of your friends? Join the crowd.
Do your best to do what is right. Shun the crowd.
