APRIL 13

On this date in 1976, while the United States was celebrating it's bicentennial year, the Treasury Department issued a $2 bill for the first time in 10 years.  The bill features the countenance of Thomas Jefferson on it's front and a picture of a painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the reverse side.  The front of the bill actually uses the design made in 1928.  The painting was by John Trumbull; a Revolutionary War veteran.

You don't see many two-dollar bills these days, unless you work at the race track or strip joints.
