Things I heard last week: In surfing, "hang ten" means riding with all your toes curled over the edge of the board. Nothing to do with outlaw justice in the wild West?
Things I heard two weeks ago: More people died from our bombing of Tokyo in World War II than from the nuclear bombs dropped on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
During the time of the 'virus', Senator Tom Coburn passed away. This arch-conservative Republican Senator from Oklahoma (ret. 2002) was one of those who produced an annual list of the most egregious cases of wasteful government spending. I miss those things.
I never rented a house or apartment. I went from living at my parents house to living in a barracks for a year to living in a tent for a year to buying a home. I don't think that was the norm then and it's surely not now.
