THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

This weekend at Catholic mass you will hear the beginning of Mark's gospel.  Mark tells us that John the Baptizer was sent here to prepare the way for Jesus.  John told the people that one was coming to save them.  One much mightier than himself.  He told them that what they should do is repent of their sins; do penance.   As a symbol of their repentance, they submitted to being washed by him with water.

It has probably been many years since you were baptized.  We should all renew our baptism often.  For sure, Jesus is coming.  I don't mean at this Christmas, though we celebrate His coming then.  I mean that we will all have a chance to see God once again.  We need to take John's advice and repent.  We are all sinners.  Repent before it is too late.
