 NEW YEAR'S EVE!  How often do you see New Year's Eve written with the possessive form of Year?

I think it should be.  New Year Eve doesn't sound right to me.  How about Christmas Eve?  Same thing.  Should it be Christmas' Eve?  I'm losing sleep over this.

Scientists say that our sun is about 4.6 billion years old.  They also say it is expected to burn out in about 10 billion years from now.  Our telescopes can now see worlds 5 billion light years away.  Since the speed of light is a limiting factor in everything we do, it doesn't make much sense to try to contact those worlds.

I once kept a poinsettia plant alive in an interior office for several years.  The fluorescent lights were evidently sufficient to keep it living.  BUT, skip watering it for more than two or three days and gonzo!

Why would you guess that dice (those little cubes we use in games of chance) have pips on each side instead of numbers?                                                                        Dice were invented before numbers.
