VITAMINS

Believe it or not, I've been trying to lead a healthy lifestyle.  I know my current profile (by profile I mean the outline of my body looking from the side) doesn't seem to conjure up visions of peak health.  But, trust me, I have been worrying about my health a bundle.  In addition, to eating only healthy food in the proper amounts (cough! cough!) I take a few "supplements".   This is where I'm getting confused.

You see, I take a little vitamin B and a bit of C and a dab of vitamin D but that's it.  Thinking this may be my downfall, I began a search for the ultimate vitamins that would make me the model of youthful health.  Well, I've run into some obstacles in understanding this whole vitamin regimen thing and I'm hoping someone out there can help me.

To be logical, I start with questioning Vitamin A.  Why am I skipping A?  Holy Smoke!  I find out that vitamin A is good for your eyes.  No wonder I've had eye problems.  Sadly, it turns out that vitamin A comes from food; fish, liver, dairy products, green leafy stuff, and carrots.  I already eat most of this.  I'll try to increase my carrot intake immediately.  If I start looking orange, . . .

I take a little B9 - that's supposed to be good for your blood.  Overall, this B vitamin is a real mystery.  You see, there is B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12.  Why did they skip B4, B8 and B10 and 11?  My guess is that it would be confusing because when you say B4 it could be before.  Of course, you know what the B8 - it was pollen.  Why they stuck with B9 is beyond me and benign.

Vitamin C is clear.  It's in my orange juice but I take it anyway since it seems everyone does.  Vitamin D comes in three forms - all are good replacements for the sun.  That's a joke.  My neighbor told me she felt so much better after taking D3 - so now I take it.  I trust a personal endorsement more than an ad or a doctor who sells supplements.

Now we come to vitamin E.  Evidently, almost no one needs vitamin E.  Sometimes I see that it is included in face cream.  Maybe it takes away wrinkles.  I might go for that.

The next vitamin I find is K.  Whatever happened to F, G, H, I and J?  And what about vitamin L and all the letter after L.  Are they yet to be discovered?  Someone, anyone please help me before it's too late.😨
