The world's cartographers have a new reason to publish revised world maps.  All of a sudden we have a fifth ocean.  We've always had the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Arctic.  Now, almost everyone agrees we have another that we are calling the Southern Ocean.  It is the waters around Antarctica.  Many people have been calling it the Antarctic Ocean - but that was not official.  Now it is semi-official that it is the Southern. Not everyone agrees to it's exact boundaries but at least it's something new to teach in elementary geography class.  If you got yourself on the "U.S. Board on Geographic Names", you could make big decisions like this.  I wonder what it pays...
