One of the interesting differences between our Navy and Army is the officer's rank.  The US Navy goes Ensign, Lieutenant Junior Grade, Lieutenant, Lieutenant Commander, Commander, Captain and Admirals.  The US Army goes Second Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel , Colonel, and Generals.  Notice the difference in Captain.  The Navy honors the rank of Captain much higher than the Army does.  An Army Captain is usually in charge of a company of men while the Navy Captain is in charge of a ship and it's men.
