This weekend at Catholic mass Luke will give you a whole bunch of "do unto others..." It's one of the primary tenets of most religions and definitely the teaching of Jesus Christ. It lays close to "love your enemies" and "be merciful to all as your Father is merciful to you."
These teachings need no explanation, just a dab of sympathy. You see, I know it's hard to do all this. It's hard for me. Be honest, it's hard for you.
Here's your safety valve: God knows it's hard. So what are we going to do with all these instructions. We're going to do our best. We're going to start over each day and make up our minds to do better than yesterday.
And just how do you plan on doing that? Start each day with a short prayer: "Lord, I trust in you. Be by my side. Help me to do better today than yesterday."
