I've had my mind on the war quite a bit recently; maybe, you have too. War penetrates the senses.
I can see the women and children trying to make it to the border and safety. They have left their homes; their men stay to fight. They have to be brave.
I can hear the weak explanations for the invasion.
I can see the long line of tanks, trucks and armored vehicles edging their way toward the Capitol.
I've seen pictures of bombs exploding in civilian neighborhoods.
I've heard both sides with their stories of injustice and claims of war crimes.
I hear of the numbers of dead and injured and I cry.
I see the calendar and it is March, 2003.
