QUOTES

Well, yesterday they buried the Queen Mum, Elizabeth II, in Windsor Castle after a short service in St. George's Chapel.  It is apropos that we check out quotes of hers, today.

"There is a motto which has been borne by many of my ancestors - a noble motto, "I serve".

" I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong."

"It has always been easy to hate and destroy.  To build and to cherish is much more difficult."

"Our peace and prosperity can never be taken for granted and must constantly be tended, so that never again do we have cause to build monuments to our fallen youth."

"...nothing that can be said can begin to take away the anguish and the pain of these moments.  Greif is the price we pay for love."

"We continue to be inspired by the kindness of strangers and draw comfort that - even on the darkest nights - there is hope in the new dawn."
