RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

SKYWATCHERS

Tonight, Monday September 26, Jupiter will be close to the earth than it has been in 59 years and it won't be this close again for another 107 years.  Needless to say, this is our last chance to take a good look without special help.  Use a pair of binoculars;  look for the stripes on it's surface and see if you can see any of it's moons transversing your vision of the planet.  Jupiter will rise in the East tonight and appear not far from a large star which is actually Saturn.
