It looks like in thirty years or so, a parent will not have to drive their ten year-old to the mall when they want to go. The pre-teen will only have to type in "mall" on the car's computer and it will take them there. Of course, that will never happen if you don't want it to happen because you'll have the car's computer programmed with facial recognition to accept only you as the driver. The good news is that no one could steal your car except the kids that are able to hack it's programming. The bad news is, your kid may be one of those hackers.

An interesting news article I read recently described how Sweden has installed an electric charging strip in a mile of highway so that electric cars can have their batteries continually charged as they drive. They are testing the concept. The EVs will have to be equipped with a special receiving rod that can be deployed when a charge is needed. If that works, it could change everything.

The first car I owned (purchased in 1965) was a 1963 Corvair Monza. Ralph Nader wrote a popular book about the Corvair in 1965 titled: Unsafe At Any Speed. Baloney! It was so "safe" that it was made without seat belts. (Of course, all cars were made that way back then.) Further, the engine only fell out of it once.
