STEWARD

Steward is a word I have seldom used.  It's a person who manages accounts, oversees provisions on a cruise ship or other conveyance or directs a staff of an estate.  I've heard the name used in New Testament writings in the Bible.  Jesus, in his teaching, often referred to stewards.  It's not so commonly used in our time but it is a very useful concept.

You see, if this world is going to become a better place, it would be beneficial if everyone realized that we are not owners but stewards of all we have.  Ownership can be selfish.  Selfishness is not good for the world.

Each of us has been given a body, intelligence and parents from the get-go.  These are gifts undoubtedly.  We all gain knowledge, experience and wealth to one degree or another. More gifts.  What a world this would be if everyone realized that all we have, all we have become is a gift.  We have not been given these gifts to own but to act as a steward of them.

Find your talents - use them for the benefit of others.  Share your talents.  Don't be selfish with them.  They are all gifts.
