RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

CROCUS AND MORE

Some of my crocus bloomed last weekend.  Beautiful yellow blossoms - the first of all the bulbs to produce a flower each year.   I have some with purple flowers which I have not seen yet this year.  All the other bulbs are peeking through the mulch and predict a colorful Spring ahead.

Yesterday, we had temps reach into the 60s  -  that's so satisfying.  The Cincinnati Reds are working out in Goodyear, AZ right now.  Preseason games will start this weekend - Saturday is the first.

Our local college basketball teams have stubbed their toes and appear to be on the outside looking in when the NCAA tournament begins.  Poop!

The futball players with the round ball are ready to get going.  The local boys are playing tonight in Kingston, Jamaica against the Cavaliers F.C. in a CONCACAF Champions Cup match.  It's not part of the MLS schedule but other games in this series will be interspersed between league games.  (I agree, it is strange but they do something like this every year.)  FC Cincinnati plays it's first MLS soccer tilt on Sunday at beautiful TQL Stadium.

The other sign-of-Spring event that is going on is LENT.  You can find it at your local Christian church.  No admission charge.  It goes on for 40 days.  To fully participate you should consider Almsgiving, Prayer and Fasting.  Don't miss it.
