Everyone hates reruns, but I've been so lax in providing new material, I thought this is the least I could do. Here is one I published on this date 12 years ago. I've added a memory below.
3/19/2012
STACEY MARIE
March 19 was a Sunday that year. Of course, I was in Vietnam. I returned almost exactly five months later. I arrived in Cincinnati at night on a sparsely-filled plane from Chicago - I had flown from Cam Ranh Bay to Japan to Seattle-Tacoma, Washington and to Portland, Oregon on my way. I walked alone down a long carpeted corridor, and saw my wife Suzanne, my parents and my wife's parents walking toward me. Suzanne was wearing a charcoal suit (skirt and matching vest) and she carried Stacey wrapped in a white blanket. That was the first time I saw Stacey and the first time I talked to her mother in a year.
