ANSWER TO MONDAY'S QUIZ - (PG)

 The song Mellow Yellow has a great easy pace to it.  It's calm and dreamy.  It fit nicely into the 1960s, if you know what I mean.  

Until recently, I thought it was a song about a psychedelic experience.  I had heard, it was rumored, that you could fry banana peels and get a high from eating or smoking the skins.  It was supposed to be a hallucinogenic. Thus, mellow yellow.  Not so.  The real story is not so sinister - almost funny.

The song writer and singer, Donovan, saw an add in the back of a periodical for a machine called the mellow yellow.  It looked like a banana; an electrified banana..  It was a sexual stimulating device for ladies.  Today, we would call it a vibrator.  Thus, mellow yellow.  

I swear I never knew this story until just recently.  I went along with the drug story.
