WORDS ON THE WALL

 Here is one I ran into this past week at a golf course club house.  I'm sure you can guess where I saw it.

"Stand closer.  It's further down there than you think."

This reminded me of a sign on the wall at the first real job I had.  We had a very nice, modern office (for the 1960s) with a kitchen, dining and rest room area downstairs.  I was in my early twenties and all of those I worked with were much older.  The sign in that restroom said, "Those with short arms, stand closer."  I thought it was funny but the old guys told me that in the Army during World War II, they used to have what they called "Short Arms Inspection."  Those who failed that inspection were sent on "sick call".
