This weekend we read the beginning of the Gospel according to Luke. It's pretty straight forward. Jesus went to the synagogue on the sabbath, read to the crowd in attendance from the sacred scripture and proclaimed that He, in fact, was the one in the scripture that they were talking about - the one who would come to show them the 'way'. Whoa! That was a bold thing to do.
The church leaders put up with that kind of talk for about three years before they killed him. End of story? No! Beginning.
Today is His day. Remember!
